The Antonio Joseph Museum of Art is a virtual museum featuring the life and art of the Haitian artist, Antonio Joseph. The Museum is managed and supported by the Joseph Foundation.
The idea of a place where his body of work could be permanently exhibited had haunted Antonio since his early days as a professional artist. Throughout his career he made sure to preserve specific pieces representing the different time periods of his work. His growth as an artist, from his early watercolor drawings to his mastering of casein, oil or acrylic on large canvases, is well represented. The result is a vast collection of paintings, drawings and serigraphs to be showcased here.
Like many previous artists, he did not live to see his dream becoming a reality. A year after his passing, his children started the Joseph Foundation with the goal of safeguarding the collection and fulfilling the artist wish of making it available to the general public. This Virtual Museum is a prelude to physical structure where archival documents and the artist’s work will be available for public viewing.
